“LONDON”
COMING TO REGENT The most elaborate film reproduction of any of London’s famous night clubs will be seen in “London,” which comes to the Regent Theatre on Friday, Thomas Burke’s romance of Limehouse and Mayfair, produced by British National Pictures and released by Paramount with Dorothy Gish as its star. Herbert Wilcox directed. For this production the interior of the Kit-Kat Club is shown as the setting of a dramatic moment in which Miss Gish, John Manners, Adelqui Millar and Annette Benson are the principals. The fidelity with which the Kit-Kat has been reproduced was even extended to the Kit-Kat personnel. Film-goers will see, for the first time on any screen, Zozo, the presiding genius of the club, London’s best known head waiter. And you'll also see Paul Whiteman and' his famous band make their first film appearance. The closeup of his conducting is immense—the only adjective appropriate to Paul! “London” is notable in that it’s the best-dressed picture yet made in a British studio. The dresses for the Kit-Kat sequence and Mayfair episodes set entirely new standards in fashions. British National Pictures believe that these dresses are of such beauty that they will delight all film-goers, and take as definite a part in the success of “London” as its many exquisite settings. The Regent Theatre management is desirous of getitng in touch with any desirous of getting in touch with any city of London.
