PROPERTY VALUES
WILL THEY KEEP u'P 2 In connection with a prominent Auckland land agent yesterday, THE SUN representative asked whether it was thought probable that land values would ever go down. This point is one that is continually asked by would-be purchasers. The gentleman pointed out that the population of Auckland was
growing at the rate of about 10,000 people yearly, all of whom had to find somewhere to live.
This continual influx has the effect of raising land values, rather than lowering them, owing to the keener competition for building sites, and at the same time swelling the residential areas until they expand into new suburbs. The tendency is therefore always toward increased land values. The lesson in this for home builders is, of course, to purchase their section early. They need never fear of being “caught napping” with unsaleable land on their hands.
