TRAM CONDUCTOR’S DEATH A MAN ARRESTED SELF-DEFENCE PLEA By Cable.—Press Association.—Copyright Reed. 11.35 a.m. SYDNEY. To-.dav. William Brooks, a tram conductor, died in hospital as the result of wounds alleged to have been inflicted with a knife during a fight at his home at Sandringham. William Cooper was arrested and charged with the murder. It is understood that Cooper made a statement to the police, in which he admitted that he stabbed Brooks in self-defence.—A. and N.Z.
