A FIERY DEBAUCH TWO CADGERS ARRESTED BOTH BECOME WORKERS From their appearance this morning, James McQuoid, aged 55, and James Frazer, aged 57, must have been well alight yesGoebel saw them drinking methylated spirits in Albert Park. Both men pleaded guilty in the Police Court this morning to charges of being idle and disorderly. Constable Goebel said he found them drinking methylated spirits in the Park yesterday morning. McQuoid, whom he knew, had done only three dayys’ work in five months. “He hangs round the pubs cadging drinks, but he is a good worker once he gets on the job,” said the constable. A police sergeant told the court about Frazer. “He is a hotel hangeron,” said the sergeant, “and spends his time cadging.” McQuoid said he had a job to go to and the magistrate, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., gave him a chance. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence any time within six months. Frazer told a story about work waiting for him, but the magistrate was unimpressed. ..“You’re not fond of work,” said Mr. McKean, as he sentenced him to two months’ imprisonment.
