GIRLS’ HOCKEY

EDEN TO MEET ST. CUTHBERT’S TO-MORROW’S GAMES Will the greater experience of Eden enable it to triumph over the fair combination and semi-scientific stickwork of St. Cuthbert’s? That is the question which will occupy the attention of hockey enthusiasts at Remuera to-morrow. The contest should certainly be fast and even, and Eden will have no easy task. St. Cuthbert’s are settling down to an effective combination, displaying a sound knowledge of tactics. Eden notify an alteration in last week’s team, Misses Ross, Russell and Welsh being selected for the half line. TWO COLLEGE TEAMS MEET The issue in the A and B Training College match Should be easy to forecast. The A team last week fully justified its selection and displayed most creditable combination. The B team plays a good hard game, however, and a keenly contested match Is assured. TAKING THINGS EASY Miss Cochrane will play inside Yight in place of Miss Hanlon in the Arawa team in its contest with Varsity. Arawa’s speed and more experienced stickwork practically assures it a victorjr. The Varsity girls are inclined to take the game too lightly, and to hope for a win they will need to put considerably more pep into their play. Y.W.C.A. MEET SOMERVILLE The issue in the Y.W.C.A.-Somerville contest is hard to forecast. The Y.W. girls have a rather formidable front line which is generally well supported by the halves. Somerville, on the other hand, possess some heady players, who if they would only pay greater attention to combination would present a formidable front. TO-MORROW’S TEAMS The teams for to-mororw are: SENIOR Training College A. —Misses K. Bilham, T. Jurd, McMiken, Clevely, Davoren, Hodges, Carter, Sexton, Moller, Gernhoefer and Hardie. Training College B. —Misses Hogg. Corlett, Smith, Peart, Sloane, Oyst'on, Macky, Love, Tully, Bartley and Ficlley.
