GOT WHAT HE WANTED

IRISHMAN SEEKS FIGHT John Dawson O’Brien looked decidely the worse for wear when he stepped into the dock at the Police Court this morning. According to the evidence he had wanted to fight another man in Hobson Street yesterday. From his appearance it would seem that he got what he wanted. His left cheek lacked its natural covering most of the way from his eye to his chin. On the charge of being disorderly while drunk, Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., fined the Irishman £2, with seven days in Mount Eden as the alternative.
