A BONNY FILLY

There is no disputing the fact that the Gisborne owned, and trained filly Enawah, is a splendid advertisement for her American bred sire, Peterwah, who is one of the recognised crack trotters of the Dominion. Enawah is bred in the purple, her dam being Ena Bell who was a well bred and speedy performer on the track in her day. Mr. Fisken will feel justifiably proud of the recent achievement of his two-year-old pacer in winning the New Zealand Sapling Stakes, which entitles the daughter of Peterwah to rank as the best of her age in the Dominion. The Gisborne sportsman was very sanguine about Enawah defeating the Southern crack colt, Vestas, and the result proved that there was good grounds for the Northern owner’s confidence. The champion two-year-old is booked to appear at Alexandra Park on Saturday ir« the mile and a quarter heat, and despite the fact that she will be asked to meet a big contingent of older and well seasoned pacers, the bonny youngster will be the centre of attraction. It will be a huge undertaking for the Peterwah representative, but she is bred on coiurageous lines and will tackle the opposition in a manner worthy of the traditions of her ancestors.
