NO SUPPORT FROM OLD SOUTH AFRICANS At a meeting of the executive of the South African War Veterans’ Association last evening, it was unanimously decided not to have any association with a newly-formed organisation known as the New Zealand Ex-Service-men’s League. Lieut.-Colonel E. G. Frazer presided. The association has a membership of 400 and does much benevolent work among the veterans, some of whom have not been in the best of circumstances. It has also enabled a number of the veterans to obtain pensions. Last evening several requests for assistance were referred to the benevolent committee. A number of applications for membership in country districts were dealt with.
