Smith, of the staff of the Whangarei High School, has been aooointed a member of the council of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Association. The R ev Father O’Hara, of Waihi, . „ t present an inmate of the Mater Hosoital. He is being relieved at Waihi by Father Buckley, of Auckland. The Rev G. S. Shinkfleld, chairman of the Me.hodist Mission in Western Samoa, where he has lived for the last Jen years, arrived in Auckland by the Tofua last evening. He is accompanied by Mrs. Shinkfleld, who has come over for health reasons.
