J- Russell and Mrs. Russell, who have been on a trip to the Islands, returned to Auckland last evening by the Tofua. Mr T. R. Aicken, secretary to the Mini-Iter' of Public Works, and Mrs. oMcen arrived in Auckland this mornfor a short holiday. Mr H. E. G. Smith, of the staff of the Whangarei High School, has been aooointed a member of the council of the New Zealand Secondary Schools Association. The R ev Father O’Hara, of Waihi, . „ t present an inmate of the Mater Hosoital. He is being relieved at Waihi by Father Buckley, of Auckland. The Rev G. S. Shinkfleld, chairman of the Me.hodist Mission in Western Samoa, where he has lived for the last Jen years, arrived in Auckland by the Tofua last evening. He is accompanied by Mrs. Shinkfleld, who has come over for health reasons.
