THE REGENT
“TAKE IT FROM ME” That comical fellow, Reginald Denny, continues to convulse packed houses at the New Regent Theatre with his latest and greatest absurdity, “Take It From Me.” In this Universal super-farce, the popular humorist is at his best, and goes through the length and breadth of the film with a series of side-splitting situations, the fun growing faster and faster as the picture progresses. One has only to hear the mighty gusts of laughter at the Regent nightly to realise how this comedy is appealing to Aucklanders. In his efforts, Denny is assisted by a most capable cast. It will interest the ladies to. know, also, that a gorgeous fashion parade (ruined, it is' true by the comedian appearing as a mannequin in a beautiful cloak, with his spatted feet sticking out below), is one of the high-lights of the production. The Eton College boy is given an ovation nightly for his very excellent violin playing, and Eddie Horton's numbers at the Mighty Wurlitzer are making their usual appeal. The Operatic Orchestra, under the baton of Maurice Guttridge, plays the overture “Hungarian Lustpiel” (Keler Bela) and various splendid selections.
