RADIO WAVE-LENGTH
ALTERATION MADE CHRISTCHURCH 400 METRES Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, To-day, There have of late been very many complaints about the alterations in the wave-lengths of some of the New Zealand broadcasting stations. The Radio Broadcasting Company of New Zealand, Limited, was yesterday informed by the Post and Telegraph Department that it had been decided to revert to 400 metres temporarily until the whole matter of wave-lengths has been reconsidered.
CHANGE TO-MORROW
WAVE-LENGTH OF 3YA The Radio Broadcasting Company’s station in Auckland states that the change will take place to-morrow. The Christchurch station originally broadcasted on 400 metres, but the Post and Telegraph Department altered that to 405 metres, which has been found to clash with Auckland and Adelaide. The question of altering all allotted wave-lengths in New Zealand is now being considered and it may be decided to alter all stations. It has been suggested that Ndw Zealand stations should be allocated wavelengths between 260 and 430 metres, which would enable Australian stations to be picked up while New Zealand stations are operating.
