SHEEP DOG TRIALS
OPOTIKI MEETING PRESENTATION OF PRIZES (From Our Own Correspondent .) TAURANGA, To-day. At the conclusion of the Bay of Plenty Sheep Dog Trials at Opotiki on Thursday a very successful social and dance was held at Waioeka. During the evening the mayor, Mr. G. S. Moody, presented the trophies won at the trials. The trophies were as follow: — W. B. Kelly Memorial Cup, for dog scoring most points in yarding events.— Mr. W. G. Butler. Farmers’ Union Trading Company’s Cup, for dog scoring most points in huntaway—Mr. B. Mitchell. Mr. A. G. Allan's silver teapot, for best two-dog team.—Mr. A. H. Ahlers. Mr. G. S. Moody's gold medal, for dog scoring most points in yarding event.— M. W. G. Butler. Mr. R. Porter's gold medal, for novice scoring most points at meeting.—Mr. B. Mitchell. Mr. A. Shalfoon’s trophy, for best pull in novice event.—Mr. J. Alison. Mr. H. Battle’s trophy, for best heading dog.—Mr. J. M. Butler. Meat and Wool Magazine’s trophy, for best yarding dog.—Mr. W. G. Butler. Mr. G. Anderson’s trophy, for huntaway under best command.—Mr. J. Chambers. Mr. T. H. Pearson’s trophy, for maiden dog scoring most points at meeting.—Mr. J. Breingan. Mr. J. Steptoe’s trophy, for noisiest huntaway.—Mr. W. G. Butler. Mr. C. Booth’s trophy, for novice scoring most points in huntawav.—Mr. B. Mitchell. The special prize for youngest competitor was won by Master Pine. Fathers! Mothers! You can give the children Benjamin Gum for coughs and colds with absolute safety. Price Is 6d. i®
