AT THE REGENT
On Saturday evening the Regent Ballroom was filled with a cheery crowd of dancers, when the orchestra were apparently in more merry mood than ever, if one may judge by the particularly alluring music they played till the tick o’ twelve. A number of parties were given in this popular cabaret, and a distinctive feature of the evening was the variety of colour and design that was introduced in the fascinating gowns worn. Slim frocks view with bouffant ones, embroideries with glistening sequins and everywhere gay colours were seen. A charming innovation was noticed on a frock worn by a popular young
Auckland blonde, whose gown of rose taffetas was fashioned with a hem that dipped gracefully at the back and went up almost knee-high in the front. Among those present were the following:—Aliss Phyllis Mclndoe, Aliss Connie Horsley, Aliss Alason, Miss Vaile, Aliss Alitchelson, Aliss Mary Geddes, Aliss Lansdown, Aliss Bettina Edwards, Aliss Cecil Hall, Aliss Gwen Taylor, Miss Doreen O’Sullivan, Miss St. John Smith, Air. and Airs. Alartin, Miss Taylor, Aliss Rita Darby, Aliss Norma Standish, Miss Jean Robertson, Aliss Dorothy Fenton, Aliss Aleg Russell, Aliss Winsome Airey, the Alisses Harris (2), Aliss Leech and a number of others.
