ON THE ’CHANGE
REVIEW OF THE WEEK WAIHIS FIRM Business done by Auckland brokers during the week has mostly been transacted outside the call room. The ! morning calls have been particularly quiet. War Loans and local body debentures have been in good demand, quotations for several parcels advancing slightly. Sales of New Zealand War Loan, 1936, 53> per cent., have taken place as high as £lOl 10s. With the exception of New ealands, the bank section is easier. In insurances, New Zealand, South British and National are firm, though Standard are meeting with less demand. The market for coals remains steady with a fair demand. Hetheringtons, probably as the result of the announcement of a further call, have been withdrawn, and no quotations were called to-day. Auckland Gras are still selling on a firming market. Timbers are depressed, several stocks easing during the week. Waihis, which left the market at sellers 19s, buyers 18s 6d, to-day are the only mining stocks in good tone. Moanataiaris, especially, are weak and low* in favour. In' miscellaneous, Auckland Amusement Park have weakened several points, and to-day left the market with sellers 12s 6d, no buyers quoting SALES REGISTERED At yesterday afternoon’s call: Reported—Bank of New Zealand, (5s paid). 10s 6d: Dalgety, Ltd.
