GRISLY FIND AT CHARING CROSS
BODY IN TRUNK MAHON CASE RECALLED By Cable. —Press Association.-—Copyright Reed. 8 a.m. LONDON, Tuesday. When a trunk which had for a long time been deposited at Charing Cross Station was opened this morning, it was found to contain the decomposed body of a woman. Scotland Yard is of opinion that it is an obvious case of murder, recalling the Mahon case. The body was completely dismembered, some of the limbs obviously being torn from the trunk, and each part carefully wrapped in brown paper. Identification will be most difficult, but the detectives hope to have some help for discovery in the woman’s handbag, found beneath the remains. None of the employees are able to recall who deposited the trunk there three weeks ago. The detectives believe that the murder was committed some weeks before then.
The body has been removed to West minster mortuary for pathological examination.
In the meantime Scotland Yard is searching the lists of missing women in the hope of finding a clue. —A. aud N.Z. —Sun.
