LIBRARY CONCERTS

GRAFTON The opening entertainment of the Grafton Library winter course was given by the Auckland Operatic Society last evening. There was a crowded audience. A playlet entitled “Out of the Ashes” was the first item, and was followed by a pianoforte solo by Miss Dorothea Taylor and a monologue by Miss Lynda Murphy. Songs were sung by Messrs- E. Snell and J. Delore, and Miss Doris Couston. A humorous number was the work of Mr. Raymond Reeve, while Miss Dorothy Richardson and Mr. Tinker Jackson executed a pas de deux. Mr. G Hutton played the accompaniments.
