MISSING SPOONS

BURGLAR ATELLERSLIE BOWLING CLUB LOSSES Someone with riimble fingers visited the Ellerslie Bowling Club pavilion recently. As a result of his activities the club is very short of spoons for afternoon tea —28 having been taken by the unwelcome visitor. But that is not all. Some of Ellerslie’s best bowlers will have to buy new canvas shoes. Five pairs were taken. A quantity of loose tea and a brass bowl were also collected by the burglar or burglars, who seem to be breaking into many buildings round Auckland. As the spoons were valued at approximately 235, and the brass bowl could not be bought for less than 30s, the club is certainly a little poorer than it was last week. In addition to this the members will have to provide themselves with new footwear for next season.
