BODIES BURNED
MURDER OF NATIVES
SENSATIONAL EVIDENCE By Cable. —Press Association.—Copyright PERTH, Thursday The commissioners set up to inquire into the alleged murders of natives in the north-west of Western Australia was to-day furnished with sensational evidence. A letter was produced by the Com missioner of Police from Police-In-spector Douglas. In this the writer said he had visited a place called Golegotemerrie. There he had found 21 human teeth and the ashes from two fires, among which were the undoubted remains of human beißgs, who had been burned.
Mr. Douglas said he had been told that four aboroginal men had been burned in one fire and three “gins” m the other.
In a further statement Mr. Douglas said his investigations had satisfied him that 16 natives had been burned in three groups. Thousands of fragments of bones remained.—A. and N.Z.
