POWER BOARD
REPRESENTATION ANOMALY ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Waitemata Electric Power Board was held this morning, Mr. J. W. Hayden presiding. “It seems strange to me that Takapuna with 400 consumers has three representatives and Northcote and Birkenhead witl 800 consumers has only one,” said Mr. S. E. Kennings. He was glad to see that the matter of represenation was coming up at the next meeting, as he considered that each district should have a representative. It was unanimously decided to increase the chairman’s honorarium by £SO a year, making it £250 per annum. A vote of thanks was accorded Mr. E. C. Walton, the defeated member of the Waitemata Electric Power Board, for his services during his term of office. It was decided to forward a letter of appreciation to Mr. Walton. The engineer was authorised to attend the annual conference of the Electric Supply Authorities Engineers’ Association on May 24 and 25. The engineer reported that the current for Swanson would be turned on next Sunday and that the township would be lighted during next week.
