A WHANGAREI WEDDING (From Our Own Correspondent.) GRIFFIN—ROGERS The newly-established Congregational Church in Nixon Street was lavishly decorated for the first marriage to take place there on Wednesday afternoon, with white chrysanthemums and smilax. A great wedding bell, to which white streamers were attached, formed an important part of the scheme. The parties were Aliss v'era Rogers and Air. Walter Griffin, and the ceremony was performed by the Rev. Campbell. The bride wore a beautiful gown of white crepe de chine, trimmed with lace, with the orthodox veil and orange blossom. Aliss Alassey, the bridesmaid, was attired in green silk lace, with gold to tone, and carried a bouquet of chrysanthemums, while the two little flower girls looked charming in shell-pink crepe de chine. Air. J. Alassey, of Wairere, was best man. The bride -was presented with a Bible by the deacons’ court in honour of the occasion. The couple subsequently left for Rotorua, the bride travelling in a fawn ensemble frock.
