WAIKATO DIOCESE

APPEAL FOR FUNDS STRAIN OF INCREASED COSTS (From Our Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, To-day. An encouraging response has been received to Bishop C. A. Cherrington’s appeal to the Diocese of Waikato for £40,000 in order to put the affairs of the Anglican Church in the diocese on a more satisfactory basis. Calls for financial assistance are coming from all over the diocese, tlie cost of administration is high, and the enlargement of the cathedral is a very desirable object. Although only a few weeks have elapsed since the appeal was made, donations of both large and small amounts have been received from all parts of both Waikato and Taranaki archdeaconries.
