Having heard a report on the proposal from its traffic manager, the board declined to sanction it. Fire at Mission Bay.—A fire at 7 o’clock last evening completely gutted the dwelling of Mr. R. Dixon, at Mission Bay. Owing to the distance which the brigade had to travel it was impossible to save the building. The house was a new one and the occupants were away in town at the time of the outbreak. Insurances amounted to £7OO on the house and £3OO on the furniture, both in the New Zealand office.
