ABOUT AIR QUEEN

Something in the nature of a 'surprise was recorded at Te Aroha in Febi*uax*y when Air Queen bolted away from the opposition in the Champion Hack Handicap, carrying 8.3, and running the distance in 2.9. Since then Air Queen has had two more races, failing each time with 9.2 at seven furlongs and 9.0 in a mile at the Ohinemuri gathering. As Air Queen is trained at Te Awamutu little is known concerning her l'ecent work, but one may take it that if she is a starter in the President’s Handicap, in which she figures on the minimum, owner F. Loomb is satisfied with her final gallops. If any of the light-weights are to be considered in that mile and a-quarter handicap then Air Queen is one of them.
