STOCK VALUES

PRICES AT WESTFIELD POOR LAMB OFFERING Stock values at Westfield yesterday remained firm at late quotations. There was an average yarding in all classes and fair competition was sustained throughout. CATTLE Compared with last week, there was an Jr creased yarding of beef of rather poorer quality. Extra prime beasts were in the minority and a large entry of cows was penned. Competition was slack for the lower grade pens. A line of prime bullocks sold on account of Mr. M. Harding averaged £ll 2s 6d. A consignment offered on behalf of Mr. A. Gibbons, Morrinsville, made to £l2 10s, averaging £ll. The bulk of the ewes were in fair order, though there were few pens of outstanding quality. Prices however were, if anything, firmer than last week. Extra prime young ewes made up to 19s 9d: prime, 16s to 18s; just killable and light, 10s to 13s 6d.
