A NOVEL PRIZE

TRIP IN AIRPLANE BOY’S CHOICE (Special to THE SUN.') CHRISTCHURCH, To-day. A trip in an airplane was the novel |>rize given to Fred Manhire, of the Presbyterian Orphanage, for the model which he built for exhibition at the bazaar for the Returned Soldiers’ Association’s queen in the recent military pageant. He built a model airplane which so impressed some of the military officers that they brought the work under the notice of Captain Findlay of the Airdrome, who offered the builder the choice of a trophy or a ride in an airplane. Without any hesitation the boy decided on the trip in the air.
