DAIRY FACTORY AWARDS

OBJECTION BY WORKERS THEMSELVES TO BLAME Speaking to a SUN man yesterday, Mr. P. Hally, Conciliation Commissioner for the North Island, referred to a Press message stating that dairy factory assistants were not satisfied with their conditions under a recent Arbitration Court award for the district. Mr. Hally, who presided at the preliminary consideration of the demands before a conciliation council, said that a complete agreement was reached between the parties, and if either party was now finding fault with the award the blame would be its own. It did not lie with the Arbitration Court, as the message implied. The demands forwarded to the court were agreed to and embodied in the present award.
