ANZAC DAY

PREPARATIONS IN HAND Arrangements for the appropriate celebratio nof Anzac Day are now practically complete, though the speakers have not yet been definitely appointed. It was hoped that the GovernorGeneral would read the lesson at the Town service, hut he has informed the committee of his inability to be present in Auckland. Theer will be some alteration in the arrangements compared with last year, when the day fell on a Sunday. As the day falls on a Monday this year the committee has reverted to the 11 a.m. service in the Town Hall, preceded by a parade of returned soldiers in Queen Street, and the afternoon service will be held at Waikumete Cemetery at 3 o’clock.
