WIRELESS APPEAL

OUTFIT FOR HOSPITAL POWER BOARD SUBSCRIBES An appeal for a subscription to the Auckland Hospital Patients’ Wireless Equipment Fund was received by the Waitemata Power Board to-day from Mrs. Mary Dreaver. The object of the fund is to raise £ 3,500, to install a complete wireless outfit that will enable every patient in the hospital to take advantage of the broadcasting. Mr. A. E. Greenslade: This is a matter the board should support. I was jnyself a patient at the hospital and I cannot speak too highly of it. If the patients could be kept in touch 'vith the wireless 1 think it would dispel loneliness. The board should stretch a point and subscribe £5 ss. The board decided that, though it as against its principles, considering the present state of its finances, it would make the subscription.
