LUXURY AIRPLANE
SILK AND RICH CARPETS A new luxury airplane, claimed to be the most perfectly-appointed private aircraft in the world, has been made to the order of Captain Alfred Lowenstein. The Belgian millionaire financier intends to make all his urgent long-distance journeys in this swift limousine of the sky. Designed and constructed by M. Anthony Fokker, the well-known Dutch air engineer, the machine is a development of the Fokker-Napier 10passenger monoplane. It has accommodation for only six occupants, the weight and space thus saved being devoted to luxurious internal equipment. The saloon beneath the big curved wing is divided into three compartments. Opening off a small entrance hall is a completely appointed toilet room, with washbasins and mirrors. In the main saloon, richly carpeted, and with silken hangings at the wide outlook windows, the seating accommodation comprises either six luxurious armchairs or three armchairs and a settee. For night journeys the armchairs can be removed and four beds substituted. During the winter the saloon is to be heated, and in the summer it will be cooled by a diffused air system.
