A PROMPT FIREMAN

(From Our Own Correspondent.) NEW PLYMOUTH, Monday. A fireman attending a picture hall averted a Are which threatened Hayburt and Company’s garage at Waitara. He got the hydrant and hose kept at the hall for emergency use, and had the blaze under control when the brigade arrived. The damage is estimated at £l5O. Stock was insured for £925 in the Sun office, and the building was covered for £I9OO in the Phoenix office.
