Dargaville Fire.—An old building, known as Winn’s sawmill, on the banks of the river at Dargaville, was totally destroyed by fire yesterday afternoon. Valuable timber in the yards was saved. There was no insurance. Timber Slump.—Following upon the dismissal of larg£ numbers of workers from mills in the Ohakune district, a telegraph message was sent by the New Zealand Timber Industry Advancement League to the Prime Minister asking that Cabinet endeavour to look into the matter without delay. A reply has been received that a move would be made in that direction.
