ANNUAL MEETING OF UNION ELECTION OF OFFICERS (From Our Own Correspondent.) TE KUITI, To-day. The annual meeting of the Maniopoto Rugby Union was held on March 26. Owing to the unavoidable absence of the president, Mr. E. Tapp was voted to the chair. Representatives from the Te Kuitl, Mangapeehi, Hangitiki, Nehe Nehe, Pio Pio and Te Horn clubs were present. The balance-sheet lor the year 1936 showed receipts from all sources to be £442 13s Bd, and the expenditure £319 2s, leaving a credit balance of £123 Us Sd. The receipts front the Queen Carnival Fund received up to date towards the purchase of a playing area, to be controlled by the Maniopoto Rugby Union, totalled £179 10s 7d. and the expenditure £4O 17s lOd, leaving a credit balance of £ 133 12s 9d. . , „ , Ten senior, 12 junior and four third grade teams competed in the various competitions last season. The champmionship was won by the Pio 1 * lO team and the Insurance Cup by Ivio Kio ' Kio Kio also won the junior championship. The Boddy Shield went to Otorohanga. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. J. C. Rolleston, M.P.; president, Mr H. Rothery; secretary, Mr. T. M. Hetet. treasurer. Mr. B. Brewer; auditor Mr. H Gvd e' management committee, Messrs J. T>. McLeod, B. Tapp. N. Cole, R Meal, A. Melndoe, I. C. Robinson and* J. Georgette, jun.
