TWO YEARS IN TRANCE Further developments of interest have occurred in the case of Mies Doris Hinton, daughter of a. milk dealer it Clilwell, near Nottingham, England, who has been lying since October, 1924, in a trance-like condition. Her malady has formed a puzzling problem to members of the medical profession, several of whom have confessed their inability to diagnose the nature of the illness. The young woman was for several months an inmate of Nottingham General Hospital, being discharged as incurable. Subsequently, she was visited by the Duchess of Portland, who caused a specialist to see the sufferer. N T o immediate benefit then resulted, bat under continuous treatment Miss Hinton’s condition has much improved. She has regained her sight and found it possible to resume writing letters. She is still bereft of speech, but has regained her hearing. With assistance she can now walk a few steps daily in her bedroom.
