BERNAU’S HUMOUR
At the farewell given by the Wanganui Cricket Association to E. H. L. Bernau and C. S. Dempster, its two representatives with the New Zealand team for England, some amusement was caused by Bernau’s description of his training methods. “I am satisfied,' 1 ’ he said, “that the tour is going to be a strenuous one, with play six days in the week, and every member of the team must be fit. I have already made a definite start by giving up cigarette smoking, and taking to chewing-gum!”
