Divine Service.—To-morrow being the first Sunday in the month, the Rev. Dr. G. A. Turner will (d.v.) hold Divine Service, in the Foreign Church, Apia, at 7.30 p.m.
Mamea's Expenses.—On Wednesday afternoon last a meeting of the Taimtta and Faipule was held, to take into consideration tho claim of Mr. Colmesnil for expenses ruourrod-by Mamea, during his absence in America, in connection with the treaty. Aftorsomo discussion tho Taimtia and Faipule expressed a desire to have the matter settled amicably. Epidemic— For the past ten days an epidemic of influenza has been hanging about. Some have suffered severely from tonsillitis—somo of the cases being very sevoro, almost simulating diphtheria. We havo not heard of any doeths however about Apia, although we are told that a gool many have died in other districts.

\V. J. Hist.—Shortly after the concluaion of the appeal ease ot' W. J. Hunt, 111 Fiji, a ]*titioii was drawn up for presentation to Sir Arthur Gordon, praying that Hunt be released, but not a single person could bo got to sign it. not liecause they thought he deserved the punishment, but became of the name he bora. There is an old saying, " Give a dog a bad name and hang him,'' and it bus proved a true saying in this instance. Hunt we forgive thee.
Dbtubbakce in Atvu.—-Conflicting accounts have reached us at intervals during the week regarding the trouble b.tween Solosolo and Falcfa. Several parties have been down daring the week bay ing ammunition, and declaring thai any amicable settlement of the trouble is >• it of the question. From othei
however, we learn it is probable tnat amicable counsels will prevail, and that the question wili eventually, by consent of both parties, be investigated by one ot the Government Judges. We earnestly trust that this question, which certainly appeared last week to ho the lirst spark 'if a general conflagration, will be thus easily settled.
