DR. L. hj. S U ITU, (the only legally-qualitied medics On all affection* of the Nervous System (no matter from what causo arising). On all broken-down constitutions. On all diseases arising from early indiscreti.nh. On Gout, On Rheumatism. "hot i upon us with fearful interest. Our regrets are useless, our ropinings futile. The sole idea should be the chances wo possess of remedying the ills we already have, or combating the effects likely to it as ho may, put on as good s he can, still is the victim conscious that he is a living lie, and that sooner or later his vices will discover him to the world. Our Faith, our obligations to society at large, tho welfare of our future offspring, and tho duty we owe to ourselves forbids procrastination, and points out to us, not to wait till tho ravages break out in our constitutions. Before nogociating with a merchant, before engaging with a commercial clerk ; before employing a barrister, a carefnl man makes enquiries as to their standing, their length of occupancy or residence; and, in tho.case of a legal adviser, both as to his legal qualifications and as to his capabilities of transacting the individual business he . upon. Strange to say, however, in ction of a medical man, the sufferer frequently omits these necess and without regard to tho fit toon, experience amiability for the particular ailment requiring treatment, ho consults the nearest man, whose experience and practice, perhaps, lies in quite an opposite direction.
It is astonishing that so many are driven mud, are ruined in health, and are bankrupt in spirits, hope and noney ? Have I not lor y-ars pointed out to them that “ I, Dr. L. L. Smith, am the only legally qualified medical man advertising in the colpnios ? ” Have I not also prosecuted, at my own expense, those very quacks, and exposed tie* various nostriums they are soiling,—such as Phosphodyne, Essence of Life, &c. —and had them analysed and found them to consist of “ Burnt sugar and flavoring matter,” and the certificates I have proved to bo all forgeries. It is for this reason that I step Out of the ethics of the profession and advertise* to give those who require the services of ray branch an opportunity of knowing they can consult a legally qualified man, and one, moreover, who has made this his study. Dr. L. L. Smith is the only legally qualified man advertising, and he has been in Melbourne 24 years in full practice on Nervous Diseases Loss or Power & Debility Syphilitic Afeections Want of Condition Gout and Rheumatism Dn.
