A Daring Leap.—A man in Alexandra Palace, London, takes his stand within a few inches of the roof, and jumps headforemost to a net placed within a few feet of the floor. Just before he reaches the iii-t he turns and alights on his feet. There is nothing difficult about tin' feat, hut if thfc man failed to make the necessary half revolution of his body he would probably be killed. The " timbromanie" or mania for postage stamp collections, has by no means died out. Jn England recently, 84,000 was paid for a collection of 17.000 varieties; and in France the, fabulous stun of SI .1,000 was paid at a private sale for a collection which is said to be " one of the most complete ever brought together."
