Tho regular trading brigantino Active arrived in port, on Saturday morning last, from New Zealand, via the Friendly Inlands. During her passage from [Vavaa pi here she experienced very light wi»ds and calms, which caused her to tako eight days on the run. She brings a general cargo "and several passengers. During her absence from port she has been altered from a topsail schooner to a brigantinc, and a house has been built on deck for the sailors' quarters, which must be far healthier for them than the usual forecastle. Tho German war steamer, August*, arrived in harbour, from Tonga, where she had been absent for some five weeks. Early yesterday morning a sail hove in sight, and when she hoisted her colours, considerable speculation and curiosity was excited as to what Bite could be. "When she entered and let go her anchor, she proved to be the Bolivian schooner John Bright, on a tradmgvoyage from San Fraucls.c t ?. which port she left on tho 4th of Oct. me favourite trading barque « «- sance, left hore for Wallis Island on Wednesday morning last.
