THE STRUGGLE AT ABLOVA.
London, September 10. The " Daily News' correspondent with the army « the < Van-witch at Baretska, within a few miles of Biela, under date of Friday evening, describes the Turkish occupation of Ablova on Wednesday, the gallant attack of the Russian! under Inmeral Tjmofejeh*, the retreat of the Turks across the Lorn, and the re-occupation of Ablova by the Russians, with a loss of 1000 men to the latter. There was an armistice on Thursday for the burial of the dead. Russian and Turks fraternised heartily wherever they met during the armistice. They shook hands, exchanged bread, bartered trinkets for tobacco, and for the rii>t time in the war came together like civilized people. In the evening, after the termination of the armistice, the Russians evacuated Ablova, finding it Useless to attempt to hold out longer with nine battalions against sixty. Late this afternoon the whole division reached Baretzka, where they will bivouac, together with a large part of the Thirty-fifth Division retreating from Savova, and Paloemarka.
