For some time past war has been threatened by both parties, Mil preparing and having folio's declaring war against each other. <hi Friday, i-Jlh instant, a ineetiiu< was held at Leone, bv all the Chiefs, who are I'av vd to the Government at Muliimu, and the deputation therefrom, but the Tutuila people won'.l hear of nothing bur war from them ; in fact, they had com.' too late to prevent it. On Saturday, about 4 p.m., two natives came running down from Nuuuli, painted up war fashion, to inform the (ioverninenl people, that scouts were out from Manga, and that his party intended to take possesion of Nuuuli. m-xi day. An hour afterwards, Leone was fuii of natives from all parts ~f the west end, painted up in war costume, and oil' to Nuuuli, his parte. This is an iiiniortnnt place. for either party l„.j n ., ...it'nat,. lin the middle. Do Sunday, both parties were in sight of each other, dancing, and capering about, each trving to provoke the other to lire the first shot and so it remains up to the present time.
