WOMEN’S GOLF.
PLAY AT HAWERA. Sooth Taranaki Championships. STRATFORD COMPETITORS. Two Belmont (Vfiauganui) players headed the list of qualifiers in the South Taranaki women’s golf championship, which was begun on the Fairfield links at Hawera in ideal weather yesterday. Mrs Richardson' was consistent with SG and SS and Mrs Young, after doing ffO in the morning, returned 87 in the afternoon. Scoring generally was not good because during the bad weather players have been placing, and the change to L.G.U, rules had its effect. I Altogether 20 players from clubs between Strafford and Wanganui look' part in the qualifying rounds yesterday, the first 1G entering the chainpionship and the remainder the Fairfield handicap. Both are match play l events. Details of the qualifying’ rounds are: South Taranaki Championship.
