After a two years’ search by monks and soothsayers the new infant Dalai Lama has been rcognised. He will be publicly pre-
sented to the populace when the Tachi Lama reaches Lhasa, the capital cf Tibet.
The last Dalai Lama died in December, 1933. The Tibetians believe that Ijis spirit passes to the body of a 1 child born at the, exact moment of his death.
The Holy' One is identified by 1 marks on his body and possesses inslinctively the attributes belonging to’ his predecessor. The Tashi Lama, second to the 1 Dalai Lama in the heirarchy, wad oriled to China in 1925 and is now returning. The whereabouts of (he Dalai Lama are being kept secret pending his presentation.
