Death Of Prominent British Social Worker.
Press Association—Copyright. London, Aug. 29. The death has occurred of Dame Adelaide Mary Anderson, D.8.E., C.B.E. She was born in Melbourne in 1863. Educated in England, Dame Anderson in 1889 was principal lady Inspector of Factories from 1897 to 1921. She was a member of the commission on child labour appointed by the municipal council of the International Settlement o[ Shanghai in 1923 and a member of the Advisory Committee on •China indemnity and of the delegation to China in 1226. She served on the mission from the International Labour Office to Nanking regarding a factory inspectorate for China in 1931. Among her publications are "Women in the Factory, an Administrative Adventure," "Humanity and Labour in China" and "An Industrial Visit and its Sequel."
