AT THE CHATEAU.
Stratford Ski-ers Attend Fancy Dress Ball. WEATHER CONTINUES WET. (Special to The Post). Chateau Tongariro, Saturday, August 29. It is raining and blowing to-day' and visibility is poor. Even the enthusiasts could not be tempted out first thing—-it gots monotonous getting wet through daily. However, the rain eased off during the afternoon and most people went out, some just to ''take the air'' and a few to Salt Hut. The. Fancy Dress Pall last night) was a huge success. Miss Peale as Sir Walter Raleigh and Miss Murphy as Queen Elizabeth as a "duo" drew considerable applause as they staged a tableau upon entering the lounge. We did hope for a fine day to-day, as the barometer had been rising, bub the sudden dip that it has taken to-day leads us to expect anything. If the 1 New Zealand chompionships cannot he completed by to-morrow they' will have to be combined with the interDominion contest.
