The Times commends the Anglo Egyptian agreement and seys that critic.-, wno have been denouncing the allegen surrender of British Imperial interests can scarcely maintain that attitude now that the text of the treaty is available The conversion of the uneasy, unequal, uncertain association of the last eighteen years into a friendly alliance between two equally independent and sovereign States is a diplomatic success on which both Governments are to be warmly congratulated, the editorial continues. It stresses that the situation following the conquest of Abyssinia with its common Interests and dangers has assisted the negotiators. Tire importance of the agreement cannot be exaggerated.
