Miss G. Hale, Stratford, was injured in the Taranaki v. Waipa women's hockey match at Te Awamutu yesterday and will not take part in the remaining matches of the tour.

Mr R. L. Wynyard, who is leaving shortly for Wellington, was fare welled on Saturday night by a large gathering of members of the Stratford Rugby Football Club. Mr C. Massey, chairman of the management committee of the club in making a presentation of a silver cigarette case, referred to Mr Wy'nyard's services to the club in both a playing and executive capacity. Wynyard retired as a playing member of the team he was a staunch worker for the club on the general committee and on the entertainment committee, he said. His departure would be a loss to the other sports' bodies' of the town with which he was connected. Mr Massey extended the club's good wishes to Mr Wynyard. Messrs F. J. Nolan (Taranaki Rugby Union), D. J. Malone (vice-president), G. Grace (club captain). J. Young (coach and selector), J. D. A. Mae Kay" (selector) and W. .1. Aitken also spoke of Mr Wynyard's qualities. His association with the club had been enjoyable and ho had found pleasure in assisting in its activities, Mr Wynyard said in reply.
