No Surprises In Centra! Division.

ELTHAM’S SUCCESS.

There were no surprises in the results of the central division senior hockey competition yesterday. The divisional leader, Kaponga, beat the bottom team, Tariki, by 11 clear goals, and Eltham, second on the table, beat. Stratford, third, by 4 to 1.

Riverlea retained its unbeaten record against Mahoe in the junioi men’s competition, and Stratfoid High School had its first win at the expense of Stratford.

Only one match was played in the women’s section, the others being postponed on account of the visit of the Bush representative team to New Plymouth. In the only match Kaponga secured its first points by a .--2 victory against Eltham. Results are: —• Senior. Eltham 4 beat Stratford 1. Kaponga 11 beat Tariki 0. Waitara 4 beat Inglewood 3. Junior. Stratford Technical High School 7 beat Stratfoid 2. Riverlea 3 beat. Mahoe 2. Women. Kaponga 3 beat Eltham 2. Stratford Old Girls v. Stratford Technical High School mot played. Inglewood v. Tariki, not played.
