Thistle Defeat Hawera E In ■ Julian Cup Final.

; ( FiRST SPELL EVEN. , in the final for the Julian Cup competition Thistle defeated Hawei'a B by three goals to nil. The match, which waa 1 played at the Regan Street ground, Stratford, was .conducted by the Taranaki Football Association to determine who ther tiie northern or southern division should held the trophy. Thistle, for the first time this teason; were well matched and up to half time there was no indication as to which team was likely to win. The score then was one goal all. Hawera had the advantage of a following wind and allowed superiority in the half back line. Hawera faded after half time, however. Thistle quickly added another goal. From then on Plant, the Hawera goalie, was kept constantly busy. Goals were scored for Thistle by Henderson, HilU and Murphy and Stewart scored for Hawera. The teams were: Thistle: .1. Rae; Crawford, McKay'; Black, blendes son, Scott; Hill, R. Rae, Murdoch, Ryan, Collingwood. , Hawera B: Plant; Putts, Cockerill; Kilson, Barker, O.Uiver; Hart, Langlahds, Stewart, Fink, Matheson.
