In the House of Commons Mr. Eden announced that the Government had come to the conclusion that sanctions were no longer of any utility as a means to bring pressure on Italy. A cablegram received from Dublin this morning says that Mr. De Valera declared in the Dail that sanctions had failed and must go, adding that the League no longer commanded the confidence of the people of the world.
