Fourteen charges that, being a servant of the Lands and Survey Department, he stole sums of money from that department were preferred against Richard Cleverdon in the court before justices of the peace this morning and he pleaded guilty. The amount involved in the charges was £395 2s sd. It was alleged that the sums were stolen from the department about the following dates at Te Kuiti: May 19, 1934, £10; September 23, 1932, £37 0s Scl; March 1, 1934, £ls 6s 3d; November 3, 1934, £2O; March 16, 1935, £9 lGs 9d; March 27, 1935, £ll4 Is Gd; May 24, 1935, £18; July 31, 1935, £93 19s 2d; September 26, 1935, £6; October 30, 1935, £7 10s; November 11, 1935, £7 10s; September 13, 1935, £&6 18s 6d; January 3,193 G, £2 10s; January 4, 1936, £24 10s.
